Point your product's events at Billing — an API call, a seat, a gigabyte-hour — and the meter runs. Each event is rated against the price book the moment it lands, in integer micro-dollars, so nothing is lost to rounding.
At midnight on the last day the invoice writes itself: flat fees, metered lines and proration on one document, issued and handed to Invoice to collect.

Price it the way you sell it
Micro-dollar rating
Every event is rated in integer micro-dollars — one millionth of a dollar — so a month of fractional charges sums to the exact cent. No float drift, no penny that belongs to nobody.
Hybrid price books
Flat fees, per-unit meters, tiers and volume breaks compose on one plan and land as one invoice. A $49 base with metered overage is a price book, not a workaround.
Proration to the second
Upgrade, downgrade or cancel mid-cycle and Billing prorates from the second it happens — the credit or charge appears on the next invoice with the arithmetic shown.
Prepaid balances
Sell credit up front and draw it down per use, with auto top-up thresholds and low-balance alerts. It is the model n4n AI bills on today.
Dunning that behaves
Failed charges retry on a backing-off schedule with plain-language reminders. Accounts pause instead of vanishing, and a recovered payment closes the case on its own.
Versioned price books
Change your pricing without breaking your promises. New versions apply to new signups; existing customers keep the terms they bought until you say otherwise.

Not yet — n4n Billing is scheduled. The rating engine behind it already runs in production, metering n4n AI per token; the standalone product is on the board. Email support@n4n.io and we will tell you when it opens its gate.
What pricing models will it support?
Flat subscriptions, per-unit metered usage, tiered and volume pricing, prepaid credit balances, and hybrid plans that combine a flat fee with metered overage — all composed in versioned price books, all on one invoice.
How is Billing different from n4n Invoice?
Invoice raises and chases individual invoices. Billing is the engine underneath recurring revenue: it meters events, rates them against a price book and writes the invoice itself at period close — then hands it to Invoice to send and to Books to record.
How precise is the metering?
Amounts are rated in integer micro-dollars, one millionth of a dollar, so fractional per-event charges always sum to the exact cent. It is the same precision n4n AI uses to bill per token today.
